Sky advertises its ad-free movie channels

BSkyB's ad agency, WCRS, has created a new ad called Billboards for Sky Movies. The 60-second ad shows a range of shots of Sao Paolo as the billboard advertising ban came into place and is intended to promote the ad-free nature of the Sky Movie channels.

The creative focuses on the structures left when the ads were removed, following the Sao Paulo Mayor's ‘Clean City' law introduced at the beginning of 2007. He banned more than 8000 ads on billboards to rid the city of ‘visual clutter'. Sky's ad includes footage of the ads being brought down and the billboards being dismantled.

The ad was shown for the first time at the UK premiere of The Simpsons Movie, sponsored by Sky Movies and is part of the drive to give Sky's channels brands stronger identities. It will be used within a wider campaign for Sky Movies later in the year.

Home Corp was the production company and Kit Dayaram and Tom Spicer headed up the WCRS creative team.
