The second instalment of three-part ITV1 drama Little Devil took a tumble in the ratings on Monday night with 4.7m (21.1%) watching at 9pm - a loss of 1.4m viewers week-on-week.
The programme averaged 4.7m (21.1%), having peaked at the beginning with 4.9 (22.8%) before finishing up with 4.5m (20%) in the final 15 minutes.
Last week (13 August) the first episode of the three-part series averaged a solid 6.1m viewers (28.2%). The slot average is 4.6m (20%) for the year so far.
ITV1's audience was enough to beat BBC1's Crimewatch at 9pm, which attracted 4.1m (18.5%)
Also at 9pm, the final episode of BBC2's four-part series India with Sanjeev Bhaskar pulled in 2.2m at 9pm (10%). The series averaged 2.4m (10.9%), some way above the slot average of 1.7m (7.6%).
The final programme in the BBC2 series beat Channel 4's The Oldest People in the World, which interested 1.6m (7%) at 9pm.
This was preceded by the second and final episode of professor Richard Dawkins' investigation into The Enemies of Reason at 8pm, which was unchanged from last week, and interested 1.1m (5.1%). The series was slightly up on the slot average of 1m (4.5%).
Also at 8pm, BBC1 ratings banker EastEnders pulled in a solid 8.3m (38.2%) and BBC2's University Challenge saw 2.6m (12%) tune in. Five's repeat of Megastructures attracted an impressive 1.3m (5.7%) at the same time.
ITV aired regional programming at 8pm. In London, Grimebusters attracted 3.8m (17.5%).
Return to Gaza
BBC1's Panorama at 8:30pm, which saw Jane Corbin Return to Gaza six weeks after the release of BBC journalist Alan Johnston, pulled in 2.2m (9.9%).
However, this was dwarfed by part two ITV1's Coronation Street double bill which attracted 9.2m (42%) at the same time. The 7:30pm instalment performed even better, with an audience of 9.3m (45.2%). BBC1's Super Vets at 7.30pm attracted 2.5m (12%).
Separately, the launch of C4's new catch-up service C4+1 pulled in an all hours share of 0.34% making it the 37th largest multichannel offering of the day.
