Filming is due to start today on a new ITV1 comedy drama, May Contain Nuts, about pushy mothers. May Contain Nuts stars Sophie Thompson and Shirley Henderson as parents who will do almost anything to ensure their children get into the best school.
Set in a leafy gated community in south-west London, May Contain Nuts chronicles the attempts the pushy mothers make to get their kids into the best local school.
These include Henderson's character Alice dressing up as her 11-year old daughter to take an entrance exam in her place.
The two-part comedy drama, based on John O'Farrell's best-selling novel, is adapted by Mark Burton, writer of Chicken Run and Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
Paul Jackson, ITV's director of comedy and entertainment, said: "May Contain Nuts is a story of our times, a fun look at pushy mothers and the problems of competitive parenting.
"I loved John O'Farrell's book when I first read it and I loved Mark Burton's script when I read that. I now look forward to our superb cast bringing it to life for ITV."
