Sky and MTV team up for set-top box offering


MTV and Sky have teamed up to produce a limited-edition MTV-branded set-top box.
The deal represents the first time Sky has collaborated with a broadcaster to produce a bespoke design for its set-top boxes.

The co-branded set-top box will be available as part of Sky Multiroom, the service which allows Sky subscribers to access the satellite TV service in several rooms at the same time.

An on-air competition will run on MTV's music channels to promote the boxes in April. The competition will offer viewers the chance to win a Multiroom set-top, plus a Sky subscription.

The MTV-branded Multiroom boxes go on sale on 1 April priced at £49 each from www.sky.com/mtv.

MTV has worked with design studio Village Green to target its key youth demographic with the boxes.

Heather Jones, director of television, MTV Networks UK and Ireland, said the MTV-branded multibox will help to deepen its relationship with its audience.
