Comcast bringing Style to Sky

Comcast International Media Group will launch female skewing channel The Style Network on the BSkyB satellite platform later this month.

The Style Network will be offered as part of Sky's Lifestyle & Culture package on channel 289. An extensive media campaign spanning print, online and television will support the launch from next week.

The channel first announced plans for its international expansion in October 2007, and has already launched in Africa, Croatia, Malta, the Middle East, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and later this month, in Turkey.

The channel is run in the US by executive vice president Salaam Coleman Smith and focuses on fashion, beauty, home and relationships.

Programming includes Dress My Nest with Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Thom Filicia; How Do I Look? with the Emmy Award-winning Finola Hughes; and Style Her Famous with America's Next Top Model's Jay Manuel (pictured).

Comcast International Media Group president Kevin MacLellan said: "Our experience launching the E! International Network on Sky some five years ago was extremely positive and an outstanding success. We're confident that we'll achieve a similar success story and ratings growth with the UK launch of The Style Network."
