X Factor increases lead on Strictly


ITV1's talent show The X Factor broke the 10 million mark for the third week in a row with an impressive 10.6m viewers (43.5% share) on Saturday.

ITV1's talent show The X Factor broke the 10 million mark for the third week in a row with an impressive 10.6m viewers (43.5% share) on Saturday.
The 75-minute show at 7.20pm managed a high of 10.9m (44.6%) at 7.45pm, pushing the show well past the channel's slot average of 6.4m (29.7%).

Last week the popular talent show averaged 10.2m (42.6%), also at 7.20pm while a fortnight ago 10.9m (43.3%) tuned in.

The show once again had the edge over its BBC1 rival Strictly Come Dancing which picked up an extra 100,000 from the previous week with 9.7m (42.4%) in the early peaktime slot of 6.05pm.

Later on the results show of The X Factor at 9.35pm picked up a strong 9.5m (42.9%) for 45-minutes, an increase of 1.2m from last week.

The two editions of the ITV1 talent show rested either side of the first half of We Are Most Amused. The comedy showcase, marking the 60th birthday of the Prince of Wales gained a sizeable 7.4m (31.8%) for an hour. The conclusion of the show at 10.20pm then pulled in 6m (30.7%).
