ITV re-orders The Fixer

ITV's new director of television Peter Fincham has given the go-ahead for a second series of ITV1 drama The Fixer.

ITV's new director of television Peter Fincham has given the go-ahead for a second series of ITV1 drama The Fixer.
Kudos' thriller, starring Andrew Buchan, Tamzin Outhwaite, Jody Latham and Peter Mullan, will return for a second 6 x 60-minute run next year.

Fincham described the first series as "gripping", adding: "It had an unmistakable touch of class. I'm delighted that it's coming back - it'll be bigger and better than ever."

The first series had a stronger start than ITV1's other new dramas such as Moving Wallpaper, Rock Rivals, Honest and The Palace.

On its opening night in March, it attracted 6.2m viewers, a 26.5% share, in its 9pm Monday slot. However by the final episode this had almost halved to 3.3m (13.4%).

Kudos joint managing director Jane Featherstone will executive produce with Simon Crawford Collins and Faith Penhale returns as producer.

The series was created by Ben Richards, who has also written for Spooks and No Angels and co-created Party Animals.
